GLASSWARE and AS YOU WERE HERE are the result of our latest recording session. GLASSWARE is a composition by Christoph Gallio who was commissioned by GNOM Baden (presenter of composed new music) and the Art Council of the Canton Aargau (Aargauer Kuratorium). The music was premiered in cooperation with visual artist Caro Niederer in Baden, Dezember 3, 2016. The background of her video was her work „Glass Interior“. New in the band is keyboardist Raphael Loherand ECM artist Nicolas Stocker replaces Julian Sartorius on drums.

Christoph Gallio Baden, Switzerland

Christoph Gallio, who lives in Baden near Zurich, was born in 1957. The self-taught musician studied classical saxophone with Iwan Roth at the Basel Music Conservatory and music with Steve Lacy in Paris. Later he completed a Master of Arts in Transdisciplinarity at the University of the Arts in Zurich (ZHdK). He leads DAY & TAXI for 36 years, currently with Silvan Jeger and Gerry Hemingway. ... more
